LDV G10 people carrier revealed in EG10 electric guise

LDV has used the 2017 commercial automobile show at the NEC in Birmingham to reveal the EG10, an upmarket passenger carrying version of its G10 panel van with a 150kw all-electric powertrain.
The 7-seat EG10 will be used in flagship and Elite guises and comes with a high specification that includes a rail-based seating system, a 7” touchscreen infotainment and navigation set-up, parking sensors, two sliding side doors and a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat.

LDV’s electric powertrain is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox and delivers 150kw height power along with a muscular 800Nm of torque. 0-62mph acceleration for the 5,168mm automobile is said to be under 14s and the maximum range is over 100 miles. LDV says that the EG10 can be charged in just an hour and a half using a 30kw DC rapid charger, although it will take 16 hours to replenish the lithium battery from a standard 220v power outlet.
The EG10 inherits a generously proportioned interior from its G10 panel van sister automobile with the 5.2m cubic capacity utilised to supply space for seven adults. LDV envisages the zero-emissions EG10 being used as an urban taxi, for airport transfers or even by families on the school run.

The people carrier is the current addition to the G10 commercial automobile range and the electric EG10 model will soon be joined by petrol and diesel versions. The LDV brand itself is on the comeback trail with an expanding range of models manufactured by parent company SAIC in China.
